    SENTRIS / QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    SENTRIS Q&A

A clear guide for anyone who wants to understand what SENTRIS is, what it can do, what it cannot do, and how it can support people responsible for critical environments.

    IN ONE SENTENCE

SENTRIS connects separate warning signs, interprets them together, estimates how risk may develop, and helps people act earlier.

    01
    SENTRIS / BASICS

    START WITH THE BASICS

    01What is SENTRIS?+

SENTRIS is a risk-intelligence platform. It is designed to bring together useful signals from weather, the environment, infrastructure and machinery, understand what those signals mean together, and turn them into earlier warnings and clearer decision support.

    02What problem does SENTRIS solve?+

Important information is often scattered across different systems. A weather service may show heavy rain, a river sensor may show a rising level, and a control room may have separate alarms. SENTRIS is designed to connect those clues so people do not have to build the full risk picture manually while time is being lost.

03Is SENTRIS just another monitoring dashboard?+

No. Monitoring tells you what the sensors are reporting. Risk intelligence adds context: what is changing, why it matters, what could happen next, and which issue deserves attention first. The dashboard is only the visible interface; the value is the interpretation behind it.

04What kinds of risks can it support?+

Depending on the deployment and available data, SENTRIS is being designed for environmental risks such as floods, landslides and wildfire conditions, and for industrial risks such as abnormal vibration, temperature, pressure, cooling or other signs of machinery degradation.

    05Who is SENTRIS for?+

Potential users include control rooms, hydropower and thermal-power operators, municipalities, civil-protection teams, industrial facilities and other organizations responsible for infrastructure or areas where early awareness matters.

    02
    SENTRIS / INTELLIGENCE

    HOW THE INTELLIGENCE WORKS

    06What data can SENTRIS use?+

A deployment can use approved sources that are relevant to the problem: rainfall, river level, soil moisture, temperature, humidity, wind, thermal observations, vibration, bearing temperature, pressure, generator load, cooling condition, SCADA values, sensor streams or other authorized operational data.

    07How can SENTRIS predict risk?+

Prediction does not mean seeing the future with certainty. SENTRIS looks at current conditions, how quickly they are changing, how different signals relate to one another, and patterns learned or defined for the monitored environment. It then estimates which risks are becoming more likely so people can prepare earlier.

08How can it anticipate machinery problems?+

Machines often show small signs before a serious fault: vibration may drift, a bearing may run hotter, lubrication or cooling may weaken, or load and pressure may behave unusually. SENTRIS can follow those trends together and flag a developing condition for inspection before it becomes a major failure.

09Can it work with systems that already exist?+

That is the intended approach. SENTRIS is designed as an intelligence layer that can integrate with approved existing data sources instead of requiring every organization to replace its sensors, SCADA, weather feeds or operational systems. The exact integration depends on the site and security requirements.

10What if some data is missing or unreliable?+

A responsible system should not pretend uncertain data is reliable. In a real deployment, data quality, availability and confidence must be considered. SENTRIS should identify missing or questionable inputs, reduce confidence where appropriate, and keep a human operator aware of those limitations.

11What is the difference between monitoring and risk intelligence?+

Monitoring says: “the river is 3.8 metres.” Risk intelligence asks: “the river is 3.8 metres, it is rising quickly, rainfall continues, the soil is already saturated—what does that combination mean and what should we watch next?”

    03
    SENTRIS / DECISIONS & SAFETY

WHAT SENTRIS DOES — AND DOES NOT — DECIDE

12Does SENTRIS replace engineers, operators or emergency authorities?+

No. SENTRIS is decision support. It can organize information, highlight risk and recommend priorities, but responsibility for operational and emergency decisions remains with authorized people and institutions.

13Can SENTRIS automatically warn police, firefighters, ambulance or government?+

A real deployment could support automated notification workflows when they are formally approved, configured and connected to the responsible organizations. The public website only simulates that workflow; it does not contact any emergency service.

14Is the simulator on this website the real SENTRIS system?+

No. The website simulations are educational demonstrations built to explain the concept. They do not expose production models, real thresholds, proprietary logic, sensor configurations or live operational data.

    15Is SENTRIS already a live operational deployment?+

SENTRIS is under development. This public website demonstrates the intended product direction, user experience and risk-intelligence concepts. Any future operational deployment would require site-specific integration, validation, testing and agreed procedures.

16How are sensitive data and technical details handled?+

The public website intentionally exposes only the capability concept. Detailed architecture, proprietary implementation logic and sensitive partner material are kept out of the open site. In a real project, data access and security controls would be defined for that specific deployment.

    S
    THE TAKEAWAY

SENTRIS is about turning separate signals into earlier understanding

It is not designed to create more alarms. It is designed to help people understand which signals matter together, how a situation may evolve and what should be considered before the problem becomes harder to control.

Public explanations are intentionally high-level. Technical architecture and proprietary implementation details are not disclosed here.

    SENTRIS / WHY IT MATTERS

THE VALUE IS THE DECISION WINDOW

    01

    LESS SEARCHING

Teams spend less time moving between disconnected screens to understand the same event.

    02

    EARLIER CONTEXT

A developing problem can become visible while there is still time to inspect, prepare or escalate.

    03

    CLEARER PRIORITIES

People see which issue matters most and why, instead of receiving one more isolated alarm.

    04

    HUMAN CONTROL

SENTRIS supports decisions. Authorized people remain responsible for operational and emergency actions.

All events, values and outcomes in this story are fictional and illustrative. They are not performance claims, operating thresholds or evidence of a live deployment.
